Victims of the "R" word, or just crooks?

Baroness Uddin, Lord Bhatia and Lord Paul

Three members of the House of Lords (the second chamber of the UK government) were suspended today as a result of having made “incorrect” expenses claims totalling some £200,000 ($313,000). The peers had claimed properties outside London in which they had never lived were their main homes, thus enabling, them to falsely claim huge sums in expenses for living in their own homes in London

All three, Baroness Uddin Lord Swraj Paul, and Lord Bhatia are of East Asian origin, and in fact Lord Paul, who ranks amongst Britain's richest men sought to excuse himself on the basis of his ethnicity in that he didn't fully understand the term “main residence”.

One might be tempted to suggest that given that corruption is endemic within the cultures from which these individuals originate, this is merely the result of importing such cultures into our own.

However, a further noble peer, Lord Ali (also of non-European origin) has a different explanation. According to Lord Ali, the fact that only three Asian peers have been found to have fiddled huge sums of tax payer's money, is down to ..... you guessed it!! ... that clever, multi-application, get out of jail free card “r” word.......... racism!! (report here)

Well, what did you expect they would say?!!

In other developments, a further Tory Peer, Lord Taylor of Warwick, a one time black lawyer, of west Indian origin, previously best known for alleging racism was the cause of his defeat in an election in Cheltenham in 1992 is facing prosecution on criminal charges of false accounting.

What was it that judge said about disgracing a Banana Republic?

Is this what they mean by "cultural enrichment"?

The Telegraph is no longer showing comments, sadly, as many were pro-BNP.

Our journalists are pathetic. The Guardian has an article about a lad in Somalia who had his hands and feet on opposite sides cut of by Islamic militants.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/oct/20/somali-islamists-schoolboy-amputation-ordeal

No mention is made about the Quranic incitements to torture of this kind:
Qur'an 5:33 "The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and His Prophet and make mischief in the land, is to murder them, crucify them, or cut off a hand and foot on opposite sides..."

Crooks. They're people who took advantage of the old rules for a hereditary HoL - rules that supposed anyone having a seat would have honour, integrity and values.

I can't say ethnicity comes into it though - plenty of shoddy white folk have made a mint on the back of Blair/Brown and patronage (look at ex-Speaker Michael Martin). The fact is, they're crooks and should be up in Court (without legal aid).

I'm also surprised by the number of MPs who were re-elected after their expenses were exposed. Thieves, liars, troughers.

Whether it's dumbed-down media or education that leads us to elect the MPs we do we seem to have collectively lost our marbles. When realisation hits, it's going to be painful for everyone.

How is it that these people are considered peers of the realm, the cream of society, and yet they can claim not to even understand the English language? What language do you folks speak in England now? I can see my understanding of things is clearly very out of date!

The very idea of naming foreigners to the House of Lords is ludicrous. When the Lords where hereditary, they might be hoped to be truly for the nation, rather than being aligned with either party. Now that they have been "democratized" they simply represent another constituency, and most certainly not the nation as a whole. Pity! Another noble and useful institution trashed!

Pardon my ignorance, but how THE HELL
did this lot become peers of the realm( I think that is the correct term)anyway

If there was a proper justice system all three should get a complete tax and financial audit since if they were willing to embezzle this money then they probably have lots of other scams going on as well.

Well said Dr.D, Asians dressed in ermine robes look as authentic as white Anglo-Saxons dressed in saris!

How long will the debasement of public institutions by the happy clappy cultural marxists continue? When will the penny drop and the majority of indigenous Brits start fighting back?

Oh for the wisdom of Enoch Powell; he would have made a superb leader at such a desparate time in our history!

They were appointed to the House of Lords by the government. These three were all appointed by Labour governments and are basically political functionaries albeit Lord Bhatia calls himself an "Independent" or "Cross-bencher"

Lord Taylor is a Tory party appointee.

Long gone are the days when people were appointed for doing great service to the nation, or through right of birth.

Both parties now make a principle of appointing as many ethnics as possible, so that the house is "representative of the multicultural cesspool they have built outside.

Labour: London borough becomes 'Islamic republic'

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/andrewgilligan/100060304/labour-london-borough-becomes-islamic-republic/

Outside the Wellington Way polling station in Tower Hamlets yesterday, as at many other polling stations in the borough, people had to run a gauntlet of Lutfur Rahman supporters to reach the ballot box. As one Bengali woman voter went past them, we heard one of the Rahman army scolding her for her “immodest dress.”

That incident is perhaps a tiny taste of the future for Britain’s poorest borough now it has elected Mr Rahman as its first executive mayor, with almost total power over its £1 billion budget. At the count last night, one very senior figure in the Tower Hamlets Labour Party said: “It really is Britain’s Islamic republic now.”

For the last eight months – without complaint or challenge from Mr Rahman – this blog and newspaper have laid out his close links with a group of powerful local businessmen and with a Muslim supremacist body, the Islamic Forum of Europe (IFE) - which believes, in its own words, in transforming the “very infrastructure of society, its institutions, its culture, its political order and its creed… from ignorance to Islam.” Mr Rahman has refused to deny these claims.

Every year countless examples of fraud and corruption by our 'cultural enrichers' are reported in the MSM.

NOTHING will be done about it until the law abiding peasants who are 'comfortable' on a relatively frugal existance are suddenly deprived of anything at all...

REVOLUTION can't come soon enough

Somebody (Parliament?) needs to inform Tower Hamlets that it is not an izlamic republic, but simply a poor section of London, nothing more. This needs to be done soon, before this idea gets embedded in certain thick skulls.
